About Us

Heinrich Schroeder the mastermind behind the Kavango Block Brick Building system dreamt of providing Namibians with affordable dignified housing. Heinrich’s ultimate goal is to make Namibia a ‘’Squatter Free Country”.  This dream led to the development of the Kavango Block brick Interlocking Masonry block.  With wide social acceptance including acceptance from professional quantity surveyors and civil engineers, the KBB building system is benchmarked as a sustainable solution to reduce the housing backlog of Southern Africa and beyond.

Trans Atlantic Trading Enterprises currently has sole distribution rights throughout Namibia for the manufacturing and distribution of the full KBB range of products.  International Trade enquiries are welcome.  Email info.kbrick@iway.na for further information on franchise and distribution rights for the SADC region.

The Kavango Block Brick building system (KBB) has been developed with the mindset to reduce the cost of construction.  Heinrich Schroeder (Namibian) designed the KBB building system to meet Southern African climatic conditions.  Due to the speed of construction a significant cost saving is reached.  Having said this, the maintaining of highest building standards acceptable on international 2010 building standards is maintained.  Financial institutions and the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) of South Africa have approved the K-Brick Building system.  Although the affordable housing market is our main target market, the K-Brick system lends itself suitable for all types of construction projects and income groups due to the aesthetically pleasing finishes achieved.

The first pilot project took place at the end of 2007 with the construction of the prototype double storey and single storey bachelor units at the offices of the Habitat Research and Development Centre in Katutura Windhoek Namibia.
